"Sometimes it’s important to take a pause and take some time off to bring your best self." - Sophie Weersink-Thirion, Vice President and Head of Market Unit Manufacturing Life Science Tech Media Telecomms Although Sophie finds skating fascinating, her comfort space is in her attic, where one can find her creating graffitis and oil paintings. At Capgemini, she leads the Manufacturing, Health, and Technology domain. She began her career at Philips, becoming the first woman in sales and later on, the first woman head in the sales department. One remarkable thing about Sophie is that she dislikes the word “issue”; for her, it’s always about “solutions” and exploring possibilities. She believes that a crucial quality that every leader needs to have is modesty, and she emphasizes that great achievements are never accomplished alone – it’s always about teamwork. Currently, she is taking Dutch classes at a renowned institution and believes in the importance of taking a pause and dedicating time to bring out one's best self.
